Engine of the Future…
Have been spending some time thinking about future scenarios and have an interesting idea for the restaurant of the future…
Imagine walking into a restaurant and sitting down at a table. In a split second the table illuminates, welcoming you to the restaurant by first name and inquiring about your current mood. At the same time the RFID reader in the table, scans your tag (embedded in your wrist) and instantly polls the GooglePlex Biometric Recommendation Engine.
Having consolidated your detailed eating preferences (over your entire lifespan) via frequent shopper card data, credit card transaction logs and genetic predisposition the GooglePlex spits back a series of suggested menu items sorted by degree of “riskiness” and current mood. The table visually displays your own personalized menu along with the 5-Star ratings and audio comments that each dish has received from previous diners.
The cycle continues when at the end of your meal, once all of the dishes have been cleared, the table springs to life again and prompts you to provide your 5-star rating, which is transmitted back to the GooglePlex for assimilation into your “Lifetime Recommendation Engine” (LRE).
Basically anytime you want to do something, there is no need to internally debate or research anything…merely log onto your LRE, tell it what you want to do (vacation, entertainment, purchases, ANYTHING) and it will tell you what YOU want. Not sure what will happen when the need to spend countless hours making decisions is removed from one’s daily life…but its fun to speculate!
